Après Ski in Lake Tahoe

Après Ski in Lake Tahoe

As with everything in Lake Tahoe, variety is what gives it the edge over other resorts. The sheer scale of the place means that those who want to party all night or sit by a roaring fire with family, sipping on hot chocolate, can. Lake Tahoe is home to traditional live music bars, high-end see-and-be-seen venues and everything in between.

Reno is the spot to be for people who take their après ski seriously. Casinos and raucous stage shows ensure a high level of entertainment and partying until the early hours.

In contrast, Sugar Bowl has a much more subdued reputation, and tends to be where the hardcore ski enthusiasts head. While it can be a little intimidating for those who are less than professional, it’s certainly the best area to see the experts strut their stuff on the piste.

There is a clear north and south divide, with north tending to be the area families retreat to, while the south has a wilder reputation. For a taste of both, Heavenly sits on the California and Nevada border, so it’s possible to flit easily between both the buzzing nightlife and the relaxing side of off-piste life.
