Aspen weather and snow conditions

Perhaps Aspen’s biggest appeal is its year-round beautiful weather. Aside from the odd shower and thunderstorm, Aspen is generally mild and sunny all year round. The humidity is low and temperatures vary from around 20 degrees in autumn to the high 20s in summer, but drop considerably at night. An annual snowfall of 300 inches makes it a fairly reliable destination for hardcore skiers. This heavy snowfall, paired with world-class grooming and some much sought-after powder snow are what make Aspen one of the world’s most notorious winter sport destinations.

Skiers rave about Aspen’s perfectly groomed runs and its powdery snow, which make for some adventurous runs. There’s plenty of powder to discover on your skis, but the resort also offers powder tours, in which a snow cat will plough you through some of Aspen Mountain’s beautiful untracked areas of fresh snow before stopping for lunch.
