Accommodation in Tignes

If you’re an independent traveller, there are masses of accommodation options in all the Tignes villages, from hotels with spas and clubs through apartments, chalets, bed and breakfast places and small resort-style lodges, all as comfortable and at cheaper rates than in adjacent and more glamorous Val d’Isere. Although the resort was built in the 1960’s, a good number of hotels were constructed in typical traditional Alpine chalet mode, softening the occasionally ‘concrete’ feel of the surroundings. The original village of Les Brevieres is the prettiest place to stay, with lodging along the reservoir shore in Le Lac also an attractive option.

Weekly rates per person for catered chalets vary from around £200 upwards with boutique hotels charging from £450 according to time of year. Self catering apartments sleeping from two to six range from £200 upwards, and all accommodation is close to restaurants, bars, shops, nightlife and the ski lifts.

Luxury is available in Tignes at far less than in Val, with more than a few hotels offering swimming pools, saunas, spas, gyms, Jacuzzis and more, starting at around £350 -£400 half board for a week in low season. Even at Christmas and New Year, all this can be yours for around £700 a week.
