Meribel tourist information

Meribel tourist information

Meribel is well-connected by air, with Chambery under 100kms away, Geneva 130kms and Lyon Airport 180kms away. Bus transfers run from all three airports via Moutiers, which lies 18kms away. From here it is necessary to change for a bus or taxi to Meribel. Frequent trains also run from the airports to Moutiers station, from where it is possible to reach Meribel.

Transfers tend to be more regular and reasonably priced from Geneva and Lyon, so although Chambery might seem to make sense for its proximity, it can result in an expensive and time-consuming journey.

If bus transfers or trains seem like too much hassle, it’s usually cheaper – not to mention more convenient – to hire a car from the airport and drive to the resort. The roads are well-maintained and not too remote, so snow-chains probably won’t be necessary.

Lift passes covering both the Meribel Valley and Mottaret are available at a daily rate, with substantial savings if a 6-day pass is purchased. Rates for children are slightly more than half the adult rate. Savings are possible outside of peak season. Passes can also be purchased for the whole Les Trois Vallees area.
