Les Gets general overview

Les Gets general overview

The two air gateways to Les Gets are Geneva International and Lyon, with Geneva giving a choice of several international carriers serving European cities and, for UK travellers, a good selection of low-cost airlines including Jet2, EasyJet, BMIbaby, Flybe, Monarch and Swiss European, with full-service flights offered by Swiss Air and British Airways. Package charters operated by Thomas Cook and Thomson also land here. Lyon Airport hosts similar routes, with British Airways and Brit Air for Air France serving London Heathrow and Birmingham and EasyJet and BMIRegional flying from Gatwick, Stansted and other UK cities.

Onward transportation to Les Gets from either airport is by frequent buses or self-drive, with car hire easily booked at the airports or in advance online and the journey taking under an hour from Geneva and slightly longer from Lyon.

Lift passes in the Portes du Soleil come in two varieties, a multi-pass allowing access to the entire ski area or a ski pass for the Les Gets and Morzine area. Passes can be bought online to save time and money, and discounts are available for children and seniors. Prices are extremely reasonable, with, for example, a full-season adult 2011-2012 pass at €314 and the equivalent under-16 and senior passes at €226 and €260 respectively.
