Après-ski in Les Gets

Après-ski in Les Gets

Après-ski in Les Gets goes long with the laid-back, family friendly atmosphere of the resort itself, which doesn’t mean it’s dull. A perfect example of this approach is Le Pub Irlandias, with guests welcomed as if they were old friends to this Irish hostelry. The delicious tapas and live music help with relaxation after a long day on the slopes, but the real attraction is landlord Colin’s famous naturally home-brewed beer. A great place to start the evening, it’s backed up by a good number of lively yet civilised bars including its near neighbour Bear Bar, with its cosy alcoves and easy-living style.

Bar Bush is a don’t miss, run by legendary extreme skier Figs, who knows more about the mountains than most, with Zebra Bar and Bar Canadie interesting options. The boomerang Hotel has a much-loved bar and, if a nightclub is a necessity, L’Igloo will fit the bill nicely. For those who feel they haven’t been skiing unless they’ve been wasted, the short trip to nearby Morzine offers everything from dancing till dawn to the infamous Le Crepu Bar and the Cavern, open all hours. The Chez Flo and Les Trappeurs restaurants at Avoriaz are famous for their parties, especially at the end of the season.
