Accommodation in La Plagne

For first-time visitors, choosing where to stay across the vast complex of La Plagne can be tricky due to the high number of resort villages and the diverse styles of lodgings available. Generally, the entire resort is dominated by apartments and condos, although hotel numbers are now on the increase and Club Med has recently added another of its all-inclusive sites. For visitors who prefer the traditional catered chalet, there are plenty scattered around the 11 village resort areas, with the prettiest in the old village of La Plagne 1800. Many accommodations here are linked to skiing package holidays giving full-coverage or preferential options taking the hassle out of the do-it-yourself process.

Most of the hotels have two or three-star grading, with several offering swimming pools, spas and saunas, however, these tend to get booked up well in advance as they feature good restaurants and are family-friendly as well as family-run. Independent travellers preferring a hotel environment may need to keep this in mind when booking flights. It’s a little unfair to report that La Plagne is infamous for its architecture, but those looking for attractive traditional alpine surroundings might like to check online before booking on spec or from a review. Bellecote’s extraordinary and massive Russian suburban tower-block styling is so out of sync with the glory of its surroundings, it’s possibly best avoided.
