Stubai Glacier weather and snow conditions

The beauty of a glacier is that it’s ski-able all year round, which means months of monitoring snowfall or arranging peak-season travel isn’t necessary. A glacier will always remain snowy.

Additionally, the Stubai Glacier’s highest lifts and slopes top 2500m, and there are over 100km of snow-sure slopes, which are open for an extensive season, between October and July.

There are only around six snow cannons that can augment enough natural snow to cover around 1km of the glacier. While that may not sound like much – it is less than one per cent of the glacier – Stubai rarely needs the extra help thanks to its soaring, snow-sure altitude. The snow cannons are just the icing on the cake when it comes to perfect snow conditions. There isn’t a surer bet for fresh, powder white pistes in Europe.
