Accommodation in Stubai Glacier

Accommodation in Stubai Glacier

There are several accommodation options for those skiing in the Stubai Glacier. The most popular – and the option with the most choice – is Neustift, a small village that’s well connected with the glacier by free shuttle bus. It’s the top choice due to its range of nightlife, restaurants and shops. The village is home to just 4490 people, most of whom work in the ski tourism industry in some respect. As such, there is a good range of room options, whatever the budget. The majority of hotels are four-star, but there are cheaper apartments available and even a few out-of-town farmhouses if an Austrian village life experience is desired.

Fulpmes is another option. It’s a smaller village, with access to Schlick 2000. Those looking for a traditional break might find Stubaital worth considering, too. Budget accommodation and lively, unpretentious pubs give the village a very inclusive, friendly feel.

The resorts are enjoying relatively new success as popular ski destinations; therefore, accommodation hasn’t quite caught up to its success. Options can be limited, but looks set to expand in the near future.
