Lech general information

The nearest large international airport to Lech is Zurich, Switzerland, which is 195kms away. From there is takes around two and a half hours to reach Lech by car, or three to four hours by train to Langen am Arlberg and then taxi or bus for the last 15kms. During peak season, there is also a transfer bus running from Zurich to Lech.

Friedrichshafen and Innsbruck airports are closer, at 130kms and 115kms away respectively. Their links to other parts of Europe aren’t very plentiful, but it’s easy to organise a transfer from some of the major airports in the surrounding countries. Innsbruck has excellent rail links for those who manage to fly in, but Friedrichshafen is fairly isolated and to avoid having to spend on a lengthy cab journey – or even a heli-taxi – then it may be easier to opt for Zurich or Innsbruck.

Lech is known for being a little pricier than other resorts due to its quaint alpine appeal. This is reflected in its lift pass prices, which in peak season see a slightly more expensive daily rate than in other resorts, with the usual reductions for six days. Children’s passes are slightly more than half the adult rate. It may seem expensive, but extensive skiing across a number of resorts is included.
