Après Ski in Igls

Après Ski in Igls

As with everything in Igls, the après ski scene is quiet and laidback. The vibe is generally sociable and sophisticated, rather than rowdy and all-night, as might be expected from an Austrian ski resort.

There are a handful of bars to choose from, such as Hunter’s Lodge, a relaxed cocktail bar complete with log fire and Bon Alpina, another bar with a traditional feel. While there is nothing that promises a wild night out, there are some lovely bars and a small dance venue.

However, if it’s wild that is preferred, Igls’ proximity to Innsbruck means that a night on the town is never out of the question. Innsbruck is a student town and where the students go, the late-night action follows. Cabs into the city are affordable, especially if going in a group, and it’s worth the fare for a night in the Old Town.

Hit up the city’s casino or walk down to Maria-Theresien Strasse, the main street where the liveliest bars in Innsbruck are located. Perennial favourites are the Pavilion, Piano Bar and Zwolver. Due to its student town status, the clubs and bars are very reasonably priced and a night out in the city could end up being easier on the pocket than one in Igls itself.
