Après-ski in Finkenberg

Après-ski in Finkenberg

Bars in Finkenberg are few and far between, although The Lanterndl is a popular pub, not least because it provides a convenient bus service for punters to take them to and from their hotels. It’s also a hotspot for live music, and has hosted local band and one of Austria’s most popular groups, Zillertaler Schurzenjager. For more raucous fun, The Finkennest offers happy hour drinks and theme nights. If you still miss the après ski high jinks of bigger resorts, Mayrhofen is just 3km away and reachable by pre-booked taxi, however most people opting to holiday in Finkenberg do so because of its peaceful evenings.

Restaurants in the area tend to be easy-going and traditional. There are several farms in the area, and some hotels grow their own produce.

But perhaps the best activities to take part in off the slopes are those of the sporty kind. The perfect holiday location for those who can’t sit still, you’ll find paragliding, swimming, mountain biking and hiking opportunities in Zillertal Mountain National Park. Hiking with a mountain guide can bring you through pine forests, and mountain huts and up to the highest peaks.
