Apres-ski in Axamer Lizum

Apres-ski in Axamer Lizum

As already mentioned, the après-ski scene in Axamer Lizum is less spectacular than in nearby Innsbruck. However, there are a few good restaurants and a number of friendly bars scattered around the central village areas, plus two popular clubs which stay open until around 02:00 nightly, a refreshing change for those who come to the Alps to ski rather than stagger onto the slopes after an night on the town. Several of the larger inns and pensions have bars open to non- residents, good for meeting up with other like-minded winter sports fans. Most arrivals soon find their favourite hangouts for an evening of music, conversation, laughter and the sharing of the day’s skiing experiences.

If you’re in need of excitement off the slopes as well as on, Innsbruck is the place to stay, just nine kilometres’ easy ski-bus travel from Axamer Lizum. The city centre at night is a sparkling hive of bars, Irish pubs, music venues and nightclubs ranging from lively to riotous. For those who feel lucky, there’s even a nearly-new casino located in the Hilton Hotel, complete with Las Vegas-style slot machines. By mid-winter, the après-ski scene in the city is packed with revellers, with the most popular places livening up at around 01:00 and not shutting down until around 07:00 the next morning.
