Nicosia Hotels

Nicosia is North Cyprus’ capital and is also the world’s only divided city as it sits right on the border between north and south Cyprus.  You can even take a walk along the Green Line that divides the Turkish controlled north from the southern Republic of Cyprus.  Aside from this, Nicosia is an excellent destination for shopping and also has a charming old town which will give you an atmospheric idea of the history and tradition of this interesting island.  Whilst Nicosia is not a traditional holiday destination because it doesn’t sit right on the beach front, the town still has plenty to offer tourists and many will make sure they stay a night or two either before or after a few days on the coast.

Many Nicosia hotels are more typically aimed at business travellers than tourists which mean that there are a lot of smart rooms available at a range of prices.  Many of these tend to be relatively expensive per night as not many travellers will stay in Nicosia the entire week, but the rooms are also of a very high standard.  Almond Business Suites is slickly decorated and offers double rooms from around £120 per night.  There’s also a local Hilton hotel if you like to stay with an international brand with a certain standard of accommodation.  The Cleopatra Hotel has a gym and a lovely outdoor dining area, as well as a spa and a location that gives you access to all of Nicosia’s nightlife, bars and restaurants.  Golden Tulip Nicosia Hotel & Casino is located only 17 minutes away from the airport on oneof the most prestigious streets in Nicosia.  The hotel has a very well equipped health centre as well as five restaurants and bars and plenty of live entertainment with rooms from around £100 a night in high season.  The Europa Hotel is a modern, well-equipped hotel with some fantastic panoramic views from around £100 a night.
